Venue details

Kopalnia Soli „Wieliczka”

Daniłowicza 10, Wieliczka

Description

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is an official Polish Historic Monument, by far the oldest venue used by Unsound. Founded in the 13th-century, it operated commercially until 2007. It is open for tours, and features relics of miners, as well as also sculptures, chapels, an underground lake - and a concert hall.

Please bear in mind that the Wednesday Salt Mine show is not located in Kraków, and it takes 30 minutes to reach by train. The recommended train leaves at 5.09pm from Kraków Główny (Main Station). It also takes some time to get underground, so please take all this into consideration when planning your trip to avoid missing part of the show!

Another option to get to Wieliczka is by bus. It takes about an hour depending on traffic. You can take bus 304 heading towards Wieliczka Kampus. The bus stop name is called Dworzec Główny Zachód and is located on Ogrodowa Street right outside Galeria Krakowska. The recommended bus departure times are: 4:36pm and 4:46pm.

Please take into consideration that it will also take you some time to leave the venue on your way back. As the trains connecting Kraków Main Station with Wieliczka do not run late and the last one leaves at 9:48pm, you will need to take the bus 304 heading to Dworzec Główny Zachód if you want to take public transport to return to the city. The recommended bus departure times are: 10:34pm, 10:54pm and 11:14pm (last bus).

Due to the fact that the event will take place underground, the participation of people suffering from epilepsy, claustrophobia, blood pressure problems and panic attacks is not recommended. Smoking is not allowed underground. Please note that going back upstairs is tantamount to leaving the venue - you will not be allowed back in. Also remember to wear flat, comfortable shoes as well as warm clothes since it is  cold underground.
