Unsound returns to the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre for the festival’s opening concert. Sote’s Parallel Persia combines electronics and traditional Persian instruments to create an alternate sonic universe, described as “a soundtrack for a science-fiction version of Iran”. In a world premiere, American artist, poet and musician Moor Mother joins the London Contemporary Orchestra to present The Great Bailout, a free verse poem that acts as a nonlinear word map about colonialism, slavery and commerce in Great Britain and her commonwealth.
