Intersecting Struggles: Solidarity as a Form of Practice
FREE ENTRY
Description
Increasingly, political movements have become aware of the strategic importance of recognising how various struggles intersect, how they are different, and also what goals and tactics they share. In a similar fashion, more and more artists are using their visibility, networks and resources to make an impact on struggles that matter to them. If most solidarity movements share a commitment to fighting oppression and inequity, what artistic practices and tactics could they have in common? This discussion includes artists Deena Abdelwahed, 8ulentina, Muqata’a and Antye Greie-Ripatti aka AGF, and is moderated by popular music scholar Luis-Manuel Garcia.
The event is part of the INTER:FACE project commissioned by the Municipality of Kraków and Kraków Festival Office.
