Iza Smelczyńska

Iza Smelczyńska is a Warsaw-based composer, sound artist, and musicologist. Fascinated by the boundless possibilities of sound, she explores both everyday noises and unusual auditory phenomena, while also developing new electroacoustic devices. These explorations are integral to her musical compositions, which she describes as "sound essays." Her research focuses on soundscape studies, sound education, and diverse modes of listening. Iza performs at new music festivals, publishes articles in music press, and hosts the broadcast "To tego też się słucha?" ("Is This What You Listen To, Too?") on Radio Kapital.
