The premiere of a large-scale installation conceived by Mark Fell, inspired by the Dream Machine created by William Burroughs and Brion Gysin. The piece makes use of a turning platform, surrounded by stroboscopic light and multichannel sound, featuring saxophone by Andre Vida and ambisonic mix by Tony Myatt. This is a companion to “traditional” dream machines placed in rooms at Hotel Forum for Unsound, designed by Burroughs and Gysin to create/accelerate altered states of consciousness without the use of hallucinogens or long periods of meditation. Fell’s installation is in Cricoteka, devoted to Polish theatre director, artist and writer Tadeusz Kantor, whose work also fits in many ways to The Dream.
