King Midas Sound are known for their gentle sound, the calm and melodic dub of studio productions, as well as for how much louder, more distorted and punishing this music can get during their overwhelming concerts. Their second album "Edition 1" was created in collaboration with Fennesz, the innovative Austrian guitarist who has recorded many beautifully textured albums on his own, but also worked extensively with key musicians from experimental and impovisational circles. Blending sultry atmosphere and slow moving bass lines with distant melodies and grainy sound, King Midas Sound and Fennesz have found the perfect balance between their defining characteristics.
