Canadian artist Marie Davidson leads a wave of young artists blending club music with minimal wave and post-punk. She recently signed to Ninja Tune, who released Working Class Woman. It’s a personal album she calls “egotistical”, describing her experiences in a way that’s humorous, fun and yet a little dark as well. Marie is very active on the Montréal scene, not only playing solo and with Essaie Pas, but as a member of the experimental group Land of Kush and the horror synth project DKMD.
