Italian artist Caterina Barbieri spearheads the new movement of modular synth music. She is a composer well-known for her explorations of the themes related to machine intelligence and object oriented perception in sound through a focus on minimalism. Following a this year’s excellent releases on Important Records (an expansive drone album Born Again in the Voltage and a split with Unsound alumnus Eleh), Caterina Barbieri comes to Unsound with the premiere of her new audiovisual show prepared with visual artist Ruben Spini.
