Unsound 2019 Day Five. Welcome All Weekend and Forum Pass Holders.

Unsound 2019 Day Five. Welcome All Weekend and Forum Pass Holders.

The weekend starts at Unsound today, so a big welcome to all the holders of Long Weekend and Forum Passes! Please remember to exchange your pass for a wristband in the Festival Office. We’re open at Pałac Krzysztofory at Szczepańska 2 street, from 12pm to 6pm.

From today until Saturday you can go on a critically-minded tour in a golf cart exploring the complications, nuances, and cultural confusion of contemporary Kazimierz. This tour is not included in the pass, more information on our website.

The discussion program today features Mat Dryhurst’s presentation on interdependent music, an artist talk with Metahaven discussing their film The Sprawl (Propaganda About Propaganda), and another presentation and talk from cultural commentator Ayishat Akanbi on how to respond instead of reacting in the digital age. Discussions include one on counterculture, complicity and communities, and another on experimental and electronic music scenes lying outside the usual cultural centres. The discourse program takes place in Pałac Krzysztofory, entry is free.

Today’s screenings at Kino Pod Baranami include The Good Change, exploring the political divide in Poland, and My Country, So Beautiful, documenting the rise of radical sentiments in Poland. The Brink following alt-right populist Steve Bannon, exposing his hate games. Screenings require an additional ticket on top of the pass.

The first music journalism workshop takes place today at Busz, with Aaron Coultate, the editor-in-chief of Resident Advisor.

A streaming session at Busz is hosted by The Quietus today, featuring Dr Ted and DEBONAIR. Entry is free, or you can watch online.

In Kino Kijów, Eli Keszler and Nate Boyce present the European premiere of Pedagogy, their new audiovisual project for synthetically augmented percussion and guitar, exploring different aspects of instrumentality. The Caretaker will present an entirely new show with visual artist Weirdcore, drawing upon the paintings of Ivan Seal. He is driven by empathy as well as imagination, exploring memory, loss, nostalgia and what it means to exist as a human being through music and sound. There should be a limited number of tickets at the door.

Afterwards, the first Hotel Forum party features a vast number of genres and styles across three different rooms. The lineup combines experimental music and performative shows, ranging from fusions of electronic sounds and gamelan, noisy AI music, music from the fringes of hardcore and rave, dub, dancehall, reggaeton, and obviously house and techno! There’s much to explore tonight and the tickets are available at the office and at the door.

For details on every event today, please refer to the schedule.

The Festival Office is open every day until the end of the festival, between 12pm and 6pm. If you have a pass, that’s the place to pick up your wristband. You can also buy tickets here, but please check the availability on our ticket page first. The address is Pałac Krzysztofory, Szczepańska 2.
