Emptyset presents Blossoms

British noise duo Emptyset return to Unsound for a world premiere. Blossoms focuses on ideas of evolution and adaptation, bringing together Emptyset’s body of exploratory sound production with emerging methods of machine learning and raw audio synthesis. The duo worked over an 18 month period with a system trained on a library that hybridised their existing material with improvised recordings of wood, metal and skin in order to create a synthesis engine operating between the generative and the composed - examining patterns of emergence and augmentation, fragmentation and resilience, and the convolution of biotic and abiotic agency. Emptyset is Paul Purgas and James Ginzburg, while longterm collaborator Clayton Welham will create the visuals for Blossoms.
