Description
It’s hard to believe that it’s taken over two decades for Unsound to welcome legendary duo Autechre to Kraków. They’re taking the headline spot at Łaźnia Nowa this year, and if you’ve been following their regular trickle of live recordings, you’ll know that every show offers something completely different, yet each is infused with their unmistakable mix of futuristic, electro-charged rhythms and abstract, cybernetic tonality. Polish composer and sound artist Robert Piotrowicz will open with Afterlife, a deftly intense organ-based piece that embraces the physicality of sound, while Guatemalan artist Mabe Fratti performs new songs and re-imagines her stunning recent album Se Ve Desde Aquí with I. La Católica on heavy guitars, Warsaw's Hubert Zemler on percussion, and winds from Kraków's Spółdzielnia Muzyczna contemporary ensemble. Fired up by the spirit of Dada and data, composer and vocalist Jennifer Walshe will draw on material from her album A Late Anthology to give a brief, unique Unsound In(ter)vention.
