SHIFTING CENTRES - A WORKSHOP FOR MUSIC WRITERS WITH MARIANA BEREZOVSKABerezovska

Mariana Berezovska, the creative force behind Ukraine’s iconic Borshch magazine, launches a series of workshops for aspiring writers looking for an opportunity to publish in international music media. Set across three sessions, the participants will work on their own pieces focused on musicians and cultural movements within their specific regions. On top of this, they will have the chance to meet industry insiders and editors from media outlets present at Unsound. “My ultimate goal is to challenge the established centres of opinion-making in music, such as London, Berlin, and New York,” says Berezovska. The workshops are predominantly prepared for participants from Central and Eastern Europe, but all are welcome.

Beyond refining your craft, the workshops will assist participants in developing pitches, and help in contacting our media partners to have the best articles published in their outlets. The inaugural online session is scheduled for September 22, followed by two IRL workshops during the Unsound. The workshops are free of charge, but spaces are limited.
