On their third album 'GTI', released earlier this year on Pointless Geometry, Polish duo Hubert Zemler and Piotr Bukowski (aka OPLA) took an unexpected left turn, reinterpreting traditional Polish dances such as the oberek using broken beatbox rhythms, stuttering guitars and granulated synthesizer blips. An attempt to continue the story of music from the Polish countryside, it's a vital surrealist statement that's rooted in folk music, propelling its source material into the stars.
