Varg may well be Sweden’s most prolific artist these days - but if not he’s certainly the most colourful persona in its post-industrial scene. Associated with the Northern Electronics label, he has released dozens of albums exploring dark and mysterious sounds ranging from ambient to techno, either under his main alias or via many collaborations, including D.Å.R.F.D.H.S., Ulwhednar, Född Död and Body Sculptures, a supergroup formed with kindred spirits from Danish label Posh Isolation. His recent Nordic Flora series of album has found him expanding his musical vocabulary in fascinating ways. Reaching towards often contradictory and unusual inspirations, he manages to also find humour in the deep melancholy that permeates his works. Varg plays in Australia for the first time at Unsound Adelaide, an exclusive show.
