Coming from Germany, nsi – or Non Standard Institute - is made up of two major figures on Europe’s club music scene. Max Loderbauer was a member of Sun Electric from 1990 to 2000, and among his latest releases are his work with Chica and the Folder. Tobias Freund is Sieg über die Sonne together with Martin Schopf (Dandy Jack) and releases projects as Pink Elln and Tobias. Their album, nsi. Plays Non Standards, reveals an different side of these producers, one inherently linked with modern classical music and improvisation. Loderbauer plays live keyboards, Freund processes the sound. Their rare live performance at Unsound will be given as a soundtrack to the Warhol film Kiss, an event commissioned by the New York and Krakow Goethe Institutes.
