After a series of releases over the past few years, South Londoner Cooly G released her debut LP “Playin’ Me” on Hyperdub this year to critical acclaim. Her vocals feature prominently, and the tracks have a fluid, free-flowing structure that makes use of the tools of dance music “to dig into deep emotional states” as Boomkat puts it. Up until “Playin’ Me” Cooly G has performed solely as a DJ, but at Unsound 2012 she will present her music as a three-piece band.
