Ben Vida is known as a member of Town and Country, Singer and DRMWPN, as well as for his solo project Bird Show. His records, released by labels such as Thrill Jockey, Drag City and Kranky, have been described as a “tranced-out version of Kronos Quartet creating a jarring, yet seductive fever dream” (CMJ Monthly) and “a rich, febrile soundscape populated with buzzing, droning, scything strings, wheezy harmoniums, distant voices and the chatter of insects" (BBC Music). He appears at Unsound as part of a special label spotlight on PAN, with whom he released “esstends-esstends-esstends”, a collection of spatial compositions in which audio focal points shift between external and internal emanation sources.
