Pussykrew
Unsound has been collaborating with and supporting PussyKrew for some years now, as we think they are producing some of the best music/sound-related VJ/video work out there. The fact that it comes out of Poland (now via London) makes it even more appealing for us.
Starting out as a collective, they now operate as a duo and are working with the likes of HTRK and Raime. They will perform with HTRK live at Unsound, and create an installation with Raime - one of the winner's of the 2011 Unsound call for entries. They will also perform with artists on the Mutations club nights.
For a description of their work, try this, from our 2010 website: "Pixelated outbursts of images, synthetic paroxysm and D.I.Y approach shape mentally aggressive performances. Influenced by post-apocalyptic landscape, glitch aesthetics and destructive punk attitude. Pussykrew turns emotional aggregates into therapeutic images. During its live shows, the audience is invested and tortured by deeply sensual waves of concrete, material video, raw images of flesh and bimorph surrealistic creatures. With its harsh expressive wildness and a dark, brutalist touch, Pussykrew leads the viewer through an imaginative digital pilgrimage, exploring human and inhuman primitive roots by reactivating dismissed areas of our psyche."
