Kontext
Following up on a couple of excellent EP's, Russian producer Kontext (Stanislav Sevostyanikhin) released his debut album "Dissociate" in 2010 on the Bristol label Immerse. Meticulously crafted in his home base of St Petersburg, his high-tech sound dwells in the dark, atmospheric and techy outer-edges of the dubstep spectrum, drawing influence from the likes of Pole, T+++, 2562 and Martyn. Boomkat called Kontext "a master of creating tense and dramatic sonic vistas", while Fact wrote "this is a confident, assured release by one of the most under-the-surface innovators in bass music... In the ever-widening and nebulous field of dubstep, Kontext has blown yet another hole wide open, just when it seemed like there was no solid ground left to begin with."
