A new project from Seattle to be released in 2008 by the prestigious Ghostly International label, The Sight Below is the ambient club project of Rafael Anton Irisarri, usually known for his post-classical work involving solo piano, glockenspiel and electronics. Altogether different but borrowing from the ambient textures of his previous music, The Sight Below operates in half gestures, making use of layers of reverberated guitars drowned in beautiful 4/4 repetition. This sounds like a dance party taking place in a distant, lonely realm, full of yearning and nostalgia; you’re invited to focus and lose focus, to let your consciousness drift.
