Sun Araw
Cameron Stallones began his musical career as a founding member of the experimental psychedelic rock collective Magic Lanterns, which led to the first Sun Araw LP.
Since 2007, Sun Araw has released an array of LPs, EPs and cassettes, shifting through various fog-shrouded musical realms, embracing psychedelic drone, melted afrobeat, warped dub and minimal composition. These releases have been widely praised around the globe.
It's a testament to his hazy, amorphous and time-bending sound that Sun Araw is one of those artists that has music journalists reaching for pop-culture metaphors of the 70s/80s as if through a dense cloud of incense/marijuana smoke. As just one of many examples, Pitchfork wrote of "On Patrol": "Sun Araw sound a bit like a lava lamp. Or like minute 45 of "Dark Star". Or maybe Fela Kuti slowed down to a crawl, rolled out, and spread into infinity."
Sun Araw will appear at Unsound with his three-piece band.
