Dreadnought
Dreadnought is the live collaborative project of UK producer Untold, responsible for turning the rules of dubstep upside down with a string of releases on Hessle Audio, R&S and his own Hemlock label. The vocalist is Samuel Chase, of Samuel and the Dragon.
Their first release was the EP "Caroline," full of drones, dark rhythms, shuddering bass, bursts of noise and Samuel's stange, affecting voice. An album is in the works.
Folliowing a show at their EP launch, this is currently only one of a handful of live appearances. Expect something big, and a unique statement in the face of some of the rather lame vocalist/producer projects that have emerged from the UK bass scene recently. As Untold himself said in interview on Dazed Digital: "Dreadnought has no rules or constraints; there are many tempos, dynamics, distortions and mistakes. It’s a friendly fuck you to any form of functional club-friendly digital gruel."
