Unsound News Day 6: Friday October 4

Welcome to Day 6 of Unsound! You can find the latest ticket summary here. Remember, come to the festival office at Krzysztofory Palace to exchange your ticket for a festival wristband, attend the discourse program, or grab a coffee.

The perfect place to regain energy after the late night Unsound events is Puro Kazimierz, where bela will play a calming DJ-set from 11:30 onwards. You can also get a coffee or a bite to eat.

At 13:00 the discourse program again takes place in Krzysztofory Palace. Justyna Stasiowska, Gabriel Saloman Mindel of Yellow Swans and Bint Mbareh will discuss Volume, Power & Protest. At 14:15, sound scholar Mack Hagood presents a talk called The End of Listening, while Strange Attractor’s Mark Pilkington and artist Trevor Paglen will explore the evolution of UFO theories and how it reflects our collective fears, moderated by journalist Günseli Yalcinkaya. At 16:45 DJ, writer, and software designer Jace Clayton aka DJ /rupture will engage in an artist talk with music writer Philip Sherburne.

Doors open at 18:30 (showtime: 19:00) at Łaźnia Nowa for CLAMOUR with idiosyncratic trio Still House Plants; experimental electronic producer and DJ Dis Fig with American metal band The Body; and legendary duo Yellow Swans, presenting their first European show in 16 years. Tickets are on sale online and at the door.

From there we move to Kamienna 12 for PEAK, our second late night event. This program features Aleksander Wnuk and Piotr Peszat presenting Krakowski’s Form and Disposition, the live premiere of CRYSTALLMESS + OXHY, Rick Farin & Actual Objects, Daniel Szwed, the debut b2b of Evian Christ and evilgiane, Tayhana, RHR, mosa.tech, Florence Sinclair, Nídia and Valentina Magaletti, Lord Spikeheart, DJ Anderson Do Paraìso, the debut b2b of TSVI and Surusinghe, and dogheadsurigeri.
