The final Morning Glory session takes place at Kopernika 15 and features Гільдеґард, a new project by Ukrainian composer and producer Heinali, together with vocalist Yaisha, inspired by the works of Hildegard von Bingen. Doors open at 10:30am, the show starts at 11:00 – as always, it’s free, but arrive early to ensure you get a seat.
Then the discourse program continues at Krzysztofory Palace. At 12:30, the discussion Anatomy of a Scream sees Ka Baird, Dis Fig, and bela talk engage in a discussion with Günseli Yalcinkaya about the use of screaming in music. At 13:45, The Art of Transformation features two artists who work with noise and have one foot in the contemporary art and music worlds: Australian Marco Fusinato and American Ashe Fur. Moderated by Andy Battaglia of ARTnews and Art in America.
At 15:00 Eryk Salvaggio – hacker, writer, and artist – presents The Age of Noise, exploring why and how we are reaching the end of the so-called information age, and entering the age of noise, and how artists can explore these shifts to make sense of our contemporary reality. At 16:15 translator and researcher Patrick Leftwich engages in a discussion with the Noise Research Union (who also lead a workshop today). Closing off the discourse program at 17:30, Lyra Pramuk will engage in a listening session – and discussion – with Pete Swanson of Yellow Swans, who has selected a series of tracks important to his life and career.
The music program continues at Kino Kijów at 19:15 (doors 18:30) with Antonina Nowacka, presenting a new A/V show centred around her new album Sylphine Soporifera. This new collaboration, created as part of a SHAPE+ residency, features musicians Anna Pašić and Magdalena Gajdzica, and visuals by Polish-Icelandic artist Weronika Izdebska. Following is American singer-songwriter legend Bill Callahan, who first made waves with the ultra-lo-fi music of Smog, and under his own name has established his unique voice in the musical world. This event is sold out.
Thursday also features our first club night. So head to Kamienna 12 for the premiere of Rainy Miller’s Joseph What Have You Done A/V show, the premiere of aya’s The Sound Of The Summer, ZAMILSKA presenting music from her new album, Chuquimamani-Condori with a noise intervention, Kode9 celebrating the History of Hyperdub, a debut b2b by CCL and Lee Gamble, Some Guest, wh0wh0, ZULI live, sideproject, Petronn Sphene, Heavee, Assyouti, and Leandra.
