Description

Unsound returns to the beautiful, storied Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, built in 1893, for a closing night event for the ages. Opening is Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński with a performance of his landmark Plays John Coltrane & Langston Hughes, tied to the reissue of the album on the Unsound label. Joining Raphael as a guest will be singer, performer and improviser Amirtha Kidambi, of the band Elder Ones. Raven Chacon – a Pulitzer Prize winning Native American artist and musician who writes scores to be played on foghorns, guns or screamed out of a window – will then perform an intervention tailored to the space. The final show will be performed by Laurel Halo, who will present her album Atlas with cellist Leila Bordreuil, enclosing the audience in a cloud of dreamy, sensual textures filled with cryptic details.
