With his solo project wh0wh0, Jacek Prościński, a prolific drummer who's best known for his work with LLovage, Hinode Tapes, LASY and MU, uses electronic and acoustic drums to figure out the midpoint between electronic music and free improv. His self-titled debut album, released in 2021 by the Coastline Northern Cuts, was an attempt to break free of the limitations imposed by traditional drumming and wears its influences on its sleeve, deconstructing ideas gleaned from hip-hop, classical minimalism, techno, ambient and math rock. And, most recently, Prościński swerved towards footwork on his 'groove16' EP, obscuring hyperactive 160BPM rhythms beneath clouds of white noise and euphoric ambience.
