Still House Plants

Re-thinking post-rock and hardcore for a new generation, UK trio Still House Plants keep the brittle DIY skeleton of iconic bands like Shellac and Slint intact, but flesh it out with confident contemporary production tricks and unmistakable nods to R&B, experimental electronic music and UK garage. Vocalist Jess Hickie-Kallenbach is utterly transfixing on the band's critically revered latest album 'If I don't make it, I love u', howling like a '90s club diva over Finlay Clark's technical, angular riffs and David Kennedy's tempestuous jazz-indebted rhythms. They don't attempt to obscure their influences, instead using them to fuel a daring, impetuous new strain of artschool pop.
