'sourcepond' is an apt title for Icelandic trio sideproject's debut album. They play fast and loose with their influences, cribbing ideas from genres as distant as grime, Icelandic punk, IDM and experimental noise, and their unusual alloy - that's as lavishly melodic as it is intricately rhythmic – is a polished mirror of contemporary, playlist-assisted listening habits. Notorious for their technical knowhow, the SVBKVLT-signed Reykjavik act were tapped by none other than Björk to help out with beat programming on 'Fossora' in 2022, and they put as much emphasis on their live performances as they do their intricate studio work, presenting their genre-agnostic fuzz of beats, bass and gravelly textures with carnivalesque charisma.
