Nídia & Valentina Magaletti present Estradas

A core member of the Príncipe Discos collective, Afro-Portuguese producer and DJ Nídia is one of the kuduro scene's most iconic experimental operatives - you only have to listen to 2023's stunningly original '95 MINDJERES' for proof of that point. And her new project with legendary percussionist Valentina Magaletti has to be heard to be believed, an examination of syncopation and movement that's both sensual and boldly exploratory. Magaletti is a drummer and composer who's become a mainstay on the avant-garde circuit, collaborating with artists like Nicolas Jaar, Helm and Jandek, and working in bands like Tomaga, Holy Tongue, Vanishing Twin and Moin, and her tactile rhythms and oddball melodies braid neatly with Nídia's taut, idiosyncratic productions on their debut album 'Estradas'.
