Mattin

Mattin is an artist, musician, and theorist who works conceptually with noise and improvisation. Through his practice, writing and pedagogy, he explores performative forms of estrangement as a way to deal with structural alienation. Mattin has exhibited and toured worldwide, and lectured and taught in various institutions, including Bard College, Cal Arts and Goldsmiths. And alongside Anthony Isles, he edited the book 'Noise & Capitalism', released in 2009; the pair are currently in the final stages of editing their next project together: 'Abolishing Capitalist Totality: What is To Be Done Under Real Subsumption?'. Mattin's own book, 'Social Dissonance', was published by Urbanomic in 2022, and since 2020 he's been co-hosting the podcast Social Discipline with Miguel Prado.
