Marco Fusinato presents DESASTRES

A Melbourne-based contemporary artist and musician who's spent years testing the boundaries of noise, Marco Fusinato uses an electric guitar and immense stacks of amplifiers to create intricate, jagged sonic lattices that expose the instrument's most visceral frequencies. He first presented DEASTRES at the 59th Venice Biennale as a 200-day performance-cum-installation, playing noisy, dissonant improvisations and triggering a messy, randomized bank of disconnected images - sourced online and from his phone's camera roll - that were projected onto a huge purpose-built screen. Fusinato will bring an iteration of the ongoing project to Unsound Kraków 2024, and although he's keen to state the project has "no theme as such", DESASTRES' immersive, hallucinogenic overload of sounds and images is pure, unadulterated noise.
