Jana Shostak

Based in Warsaw, Polish-Belarusian conceptual artist and activist Jana Shostak repurposes mass media, using it as a tool to question the nature of art. She's a member of the "Partyzanka" movement, an initiative to assist Belarusian refugees in Poland, and came up with the '1 Minute Scream' to help bring attention to the struggle. Shostak is currently developing a full-length comedy about the patriarchy, and has received the "Polytyka Passports" award for her combination of art and activism.
