Growing up in the footwork capital Chicago, Daryl Bunch Jr., aka Heavee, started off as a dancer, familiarizing himself with the genre's polyrhythmic groove before he began to put his own spin on it as a producer. And after working with artists like DJ Rashad and Zora Jones and dropping his debut album 'WFM' on the iconic Teklife label, Heavee leveled up with last year's ambitious 'Unleash', a kaleidoscopic dancefloor experience that was released in conjunction with its own "choose-your-own-adventure"-style video game, 'The Awakening With'. The album uses footwork as its nexus, but travels far beyond the genre's borders, disrupting the 160BPM pulse with euphoric ambience and nods to grime, rap, R&B, techno and jazz. More importantly though, it's seriously good fun.
