Daniel Szwed

One half of Warsaw-based electroacoustic duo BNNT alongside Konrad Smoleński, Daniel Szwed is a distinctive percussionist and producer whose solo material is focused around the possibilities offered by a custom drum kit that he surrounds with pedals and DIY instruments. His debut album 'STANDARD CAP' – released this year on the HISS Collective imprint he co-runs with Patryk Daszkiewicz (DNMSZ), Mateusz Rosiński (JESSICA), and Krystian Piotr (LAS) – is raw illustration of this concept, an unconventional rhythmic workout that balances Szwed's experimental knowhow with salutes to techno, metal and industrial music. Ritualistic and bursting with energy, it's material that's truly relentless in its pursuit of fresh textures and uncharted sonic colours.
