Assyouti

Since 2021, Assyouti has been based in Berlin, where he's become a regular fixture on the city's fringe club circuit. But the young DJ and producer was born and raised in the hustle and bustle of Cairo, and the Egyptian capital's time-fluxing chaos still drives his frenetic, idiosyncratic approach. As a producer, he examines a borderless world where rhythm - in all its many forms - sits at the center, augmenting jungle and vintage rave sounds with hypermodern bass mutations and sharpening the edges with punkish distortion. And he's just as bold when he's behind the decks, building introspective, psychedelic counter-narratives from far-flung kinetic pulses that will be sure to disorient and energize dancers.
