PPENING OARTY (AKA SNICKERBOUNCE)
SOLD OUT
Description
Unsound club programming starts in earnest at 89 – the former strip club beneath Hotel Forum – featuring an inverted pop performance from Bristol-based artist Mun Sing, better also as Giant Swan’s Harry Wright, following their Planet Mu-released debut album Inflatable Gravestone, which juxtaposed awkward rhythms and pop vocals to grapple with the loss of his father. Meanwhile, Moroccan DJ Ojoo is known for dissolving dusty dub, dancehall and industrial sounds with futuristic club rhythms, tracking through dembow, grime and reggaetón, disrupting the flow with musique concrète and extreme noise. And what can be said about British bass deity Blawan that hasn’t been muttered already? Building on the wonky, unconventional sound of his recent Dismantled Into Juice, EP, the DJ and producer will perform a live show, knocking down the boundaries between techno’s variants, challenging the dancefloor at every turn. Opening is Krzysztof, the co-curator of Warsaw’s sunrise music series W Brzask (At Dawn) and member of Kem collective, who will play a slowly building set full of uncanny connections. Kraków’s Olivia – Unsound resident DJ – closes the night in style.
Note: this event is not included in the Unsound pass and requires a separate ticket. Be sure to buy in advance, as it is unlikely there will be tickets at the door.
