Okkyung Lee

For over two decades, South Korean cellist, composer and improviser Okkyung Lee has worked as a solo artist and collaborator, challenging public perceptions of the cello by utilizing extended techniques and folding in ideas from noise, jazz and Korean folk music. She's appeared on over 30 albums, and has developed ambitious site-specific works that respond to architectural anomalies or the audience itself, and at this year's Unsound performance she'll be playing in front of a series of hand-picked dada films.
