It’s The First Day of Unsound! Here’s What’s On
It’s the first day of Unsound, taking over Kraków until the 16th October. You can find the full program here. Follow us on Telegram for up-to-the-minute info. You can also join the Unsound Discord to meet and chat with other Unsound attendees, or those checking in for a glimpse from afar.
Remember that you can come to the Unsound festival office at Pałac Krzysztofory today, from 12pm - 6pm, to exchange your pass for wristband, or purchase tickets to events not yet sold out. You can find a regularly updated list of ticket info here.
Tonight’s shows take place at Manghha, bringing together artists from around the world. Kraków percussionist Aleksander Wnuk presents En Face: Solitude by Sarah Nemtsov – in which a solo percussionist performs in their own ‘room’ on stage – as well as Rolf Wallin’s Scratch for amplified balloon. Mexican electroacoustic musician Debit reimagines the sound of ancient Mayan musical instruments, while The Ephemeron Loop is the solo project of Vymethoxy Redspiders of UK noise-metal duo Guttersnipe. The night ends with Indonesian duo Raja Kirik, drawing on Java’s rich cultural traditions and history of colonial oppression to create dark, euphoric music. Tickets are sold out online, but we will have tickets available at the door according to capacity.
Afterwards, legendary Kazimierz club Piękny Pies will present an intimate afterparty in the cellars of their Kazimierz bar, including a DJ set from Debit, live sets from Y-DRA of Raja Kirik and Speaker Music, and DJ sets from locals Pastwa, Meke b2b Kondrat, Discomule b2b Kinzo Chrome and Morgan Abend. Tickets to this event - produced by Piękny Pies - will be available at the door. Drop in to have a dance or chat!
