Unsound once ran a club beneath Hotel Forum under the name 89, a Lynchian zone with original decor. Tonight 89 is reanimated for the festival’s official opening party, an intimate affair featuring friends old and new. LCY returns after last year’s blistering set to play b2b with Lee Gamble, exploring percussive techno, jungle and beyond. Tom Boogizm is Manchester’s best kept secret, a fantastically eclectic DJ who also releases music as Rat Heart. Kraków’s own Chino plays a live set inspired by industrial and electro. Further DJ sets come from Ukraine’s shjva – ahead of her release on Brutaż – and Warsaw’s hermeneia. This event is not included in the Unsound pass.
