While they might be signed to forward-thinking pop collective PC Music, Anglo-Polish artist felicita has always been difficult to define. Their collaborations with like-minded artists like Kero Kero Bonito, Caroline Polachek and YoungQueenz might scratch the pop itch, but they're just as inspired by traditional folk dance and experimental sounds, as witnessed on their 2018 dance piece "soft power". Last year they teamed up with writer Steph Kretowicz and "Kentucky Route Zero" composer Ben Babbitt on the brilliant "I Hate It Here" cassette, splicing sounds and music from Tirzah, Mica Levi, Coby Sey, Jonnine Standish and others with spoken word performances from a host of collaborators. Now based in London after a short period in Shanghai, felicita is ready to step into a new creative epoch, with brand new music, visual art and live experimentation.
