“Luminous Bodies 2014-15” is a project that is part of the “Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage” Program, within the EEA Financial Mechanism
2009-2014. It connects Fundacja Tone Muzyka I Nowe Formy Sztuki, the organisation responsible for Unsound Festival in Kraków; Insomnia Festival in Tromso, Norway; and Iceland Music Export, responsible for Iceland Airwaves, Unsound’s partner festival in Reykjavik.
The artistic content of the project is included in this edition of Unsound, made up of artists representing diverse genres, artistic and cultural backgrounds with a strong presentation of creativity from Norway, Iceland and Poland - the three partner countries. Program elements are curated with our partners and co-curators involved in the project and consist of artistic presentations, cross-border collaborations, special commissions and debuts.
Apart from the program, the project consists of various actions, such as curatorial meetings, discussions, cross-national promotion and a release - a CD compilation created in collaboration with the UK’s Wire Magazine.
Although the core focus of “Luminous Bodies” is Poland, a number of artists will also perform at festival editions in Tromso and Reykjavik in October and November as part of the project. Curators of “Luminous Bodies”: Grímur Atlason, Christian Hollingsæter, Grzegorz Kwiecień, Mat Schulz, Mattis With and Łukasz Warna-Wiesławski.
