This Unsound commission by Ben Vida first took place in New York earlier this year, using an external sound system as well as SubPacs. A SubPac is a high-fidelity tactile audio system that directly transfers low frequencies to your body. Vida notes his work starts at a “tipping point” operating in “that space between building up and breaking down meaning, or between musical representation and sonic abstraction.” Each session lasts around 30 minutes for an audience of 25, with an additional ticket required on top of the pass.
