Lotic has proven himself to be one of the most interesting DJs currently at work, blending seemingly disparate genres into fascinatingly fractured hybrids. Warping r&b, hip-hop and ballroom into forceful industrial collages is his production modus operandi, as heard on the astounding breakthrough mixtape "Damsels in Distress". He often takes a strong stance on racial and sexual matters, which he sees as important factors in the creation of music. This year he expanded on those ideas and mixtape's sounds with "Heterocetera", an EP on Tri Angle label, which brought his futuristic and densely textured music to wider audiences.
