The final night in Hotel Forum features two big premieres. A leading figure in ambient music’s resurgence, Huerco S. aka Pendant, will play live for the first time with visuals by Elektro Moon Vision, while Amnesia Scanner follow up their Another Life LP with a live performance featuring AI member Oracle. Further deconstructing club music is Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones with a rare live A/V show. The night follows with two legends: hardcore techno originator The Mover aka Marc Arcadipane and drum & bass icon DJ Storm. Zenker Brothers close the room with a debut b2b with Skee Mask, exploring techno, broken beats and beyond. Opening the room is Warsaw producer Michal Wolski with a new live show featuring slow and deep sounds.
The Chandelier Room features two very special one-off European premieres. Sho Madjozi is a bright star of South African rap in the making, performing with DJ Lag and two traditional dancers from Limpopo. From Tanzania, Sisso provide another taste of blistering, fast-paced singeli music. Nazar presents a raw, dark version of Angolan kuduro, Marie Davidson will put on an electrifying show to celebrate a new release, while Olof Dreijer and Shyboi close with eclectic DJ sets, blending house, techno, Caribbean rhythms and more. Pel Bonheur opens.
The Kitchen’s lineup starts with a swinging set from Poland’s Young Majli & PLAL who open for Los Angeles-based soulful reggaeton artist Kelman Duran and Egyptian rapper Rozzma. HDMIRROR will speed things up with his pummelling brand of hardcore techno and trance, while Sissel Wincent and Dis Fig will descend further into playful experiments with heavy club music. Intruder Alert’s export Kry ends the night with a bang.
Drone music legend Phill Niblock celebrates his 85th birthday in Hotel’s basement by offering a safe heaven from the intense club experience upstairs with an extended set. Following is a local lineup featuring improv duo Paper Cuts, electroacoustic artist Olga Szymula and DJ / Morgiana Hz with a hybrid set responding to festival’s theme.
