The unique sound of Jlin’s first two albums has taken the American producer far outside of the club context, into the world of classical music via a collaboration with Kronos Quartet as well as contemporary dance. In 2016, Unsound reached out to Company Wayne McGregor about the idea of Jlin collaborating the choreographer. This led to Jlin being engaged to compose a score for Company Wayne McGregor’s Autobiography, a new work designed around its choreographer’s own genome. Jlin will be in Kraków for the European premiere of Autobiography Edits, a condensed version of the show created especially for the context of music festivals, where Jlin plays live on stage with the dancers.
