A double bill of new works. Robert Henke's "Lumiere" is a radical sonic experience with a massive yet ephemeral visual counterpoint. Two powerful lasers draw shapes, symbols and ultrashort pulses of light, whilst an autonomous audio engine creates rhythmical structures, intense grids of bass and spectral noises. "Dream Cargos" sees musicians Keith Fullerton Whitman and Roly Porter collaborate with video artists Marcel Weber and Lucy Benson. Inspired by a J.G.Ballard's story, "Dream Cargos" explores the predicament of the last man on Earth, who in the toxicity of waste encounters marvelous new life forms flourishing. Musically, the analogue synth and electronics of Porter and Whitman will interfere with string parts played by Sinfonietta Cracovia musicians. "Dream Cargos" is a co-commission between Unsound and Werkleitz Festival in Halle, Germany.
