“Elements of Light” is a unique and ambitious collaborative piece bringing together Pantha du Prince’s trademark brittle electronic sounds with the Norwegian Bell Laboratory, creating a symphony for electronics, bells and percussion. The sounds are derived from forms as diverse as techno, jazz, new music, classical music, new age music and gamelan; the central instrument is the carillon, a heavy set of joint bells that can be controlled like a piano to achieve wonderful crystal-like sounds. This Sunday afternoon event is presented together with Red Bull Music Academy. It lies outside the main nightly program, requiring a separate ticket on top of the festival pass.
