Presentation: Chasing the Spectres of Transformation
FREE ENTRY
Description
Duchologia polska (loosely translated as "Polish ghostology", a deliberately wonky play on the concept of hauntology) is a project dedicated to recovering images of daily life during the transformation period in Poland. Alongside political and economic shifts, the country’s visual dimension changed, as if a vivid veneer of commerce was spread over the drab reality. In her talk, Polish writer Olga Drenda explains how duchologia captures the allure of new capitalism as well as DIY attempts to catch up with new desires.
The project is a part of Unsound Lab, financed by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
