Discussion: Shaping the Future of Culture in European Cities
FREE ENTRY
Description
While attendees of festivals like Unsound probably place importance on the idea of culture, how integral are culture and events in shaping a city's identity, especially in European capitals renowned for such things? How do the aims of curators overlap or oppose those of city officials? What are some of the hidden costs of successful cultural planning and outreach to a city? This discussion includes former vice mayor of Kraków and former director of Krakow Festival Office Magdalena Sroka, plenipotentiary of the mayor of Kraków for culture Robert Piaskowski, executive director of Unsound Małgorzata Płysa, artistic director of Nuits Sonores and Le Sucre, Noelia Rodriguez from CaixaForum Barcelona, and is moderated by adopted Berliner Lisa Blanning.
The project is a part of Unsound Lab, financed by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
