In advance of their performance on Thursday, Matmos – M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel – discuss their affinity for composer, writer and multimedia artist Robert Ashley. Among the subjects will be “Perfect Lives”, the idiosyncratic opera for television that forged a big part of Ashley’s reputation in the early 1980s, as well as the process of reviving it in their own idiom.
